Tips for Packing:

• Layer bottom of box with paper
  
• Wrap Fragile items in paper before placing in boxes
  
• Pack Similar Items together
  
• Don't over pack, keep boxes under 50 pounds
  
• Pack cartons firmly, use crumbled paper to fill in holes, fill box to top
  
• Tape securely
  
• Label Boxes with name, room (where box should go) and description
  
• Disconnect all wires and cables from electronics
  
• Organize by packing room by room
  
• Clocks remove or secure pendulum in large clocks, Grandfather clocks should be prepared to move by expert serviceman
  

 

Tips for Carton Packing:

• Small Carton- Heavy items such as Books, Files and Magazines
  
• Medium Carton - Items such as Pots, Pans, Cookware, Toys
  
• Large Carton - Pillows, comforters, blankets, Bulky Items
  
• Wardrobe Carton - Portable Closet, Bar to Hang Clothing
  
• Mirror Carton - Large Frames or Pictures
  
• Dish Pack Carton - Items such as Dishes, China, Glassware and Crystal

• Flammable Fluids
  
• Combustible or Explosive items such as Propane Tanks
  
• Paints and Paint Thinners
  
• Firearms

• Avoid Packing Personal Belongings such as cash, jewelry, credit cards, important documents and irreplaceable items.

Moving Day Tips:

• At least one person should be home during loading process. Our drivers or movers may have questions or need access that only you can provide
  
• During your walk –through make sure you advice movers of what needs to be moved and what does not
  
• AI Moving Drivers are required to collect payment for your move at the end of the move, have someone available to make payment. Payments must be made in cash, check or money order. No credit cards accepted.
  
• A copy of the Bill of Landing signed by the driver is your receipt
  
• If you live in a building with elevators, be sure to notify the management in advance that you will need use of elevators
  
• If you live in an area where parking permit is required or needed, shipper must arrange to get parking permit in advance
